Tricuspid regurgitation (TR) may be classified as either primary or secondary (functional), with over 90% of cases falling into the latter category. Secondary TR is most commonly associated with left-sided valvular pathology or myocardial dysfunction. It typically arises due to right ventricular (RV) remodeling in response to pressure and/or volume overload, leading to annular dilatation and leaflet tethering.
