The development of acute appendicitis in an inguinal hernia is infrequent, and this rare entity is termed Amy and s hernia. The patient described in this report had typical symptoms and signs of incarcerated inguinal hernia. We failed to provide a correct preoperative diagnosis, Intraoperatİvely, acute appendicitis was diagnosed in the hernia sac, and resection of the appendix with a Lichtenstein repair of the inguinal hernia was performed. Histologic evaluation revealed a chronically inflamed hernia sac and appendix with vascular congestion and serosal inflamation without purulent inflammation.
