This study investigates the sustainability perceptions of healthcare professionals working at Yalova Training and Research Hospital and aims to contribute to improving the sustainability culture within the healthcare sector. Designed as a descriptive cross-sectional study, the research was conducted between May 20 and June 20, 2025, through both face-to-face and online surveys administered to 201 healthcare workers, representing 50.25% of the target population of 400. Data were analyzed using SPSS, employing t-tests, ANOVA, and thematic analysis methods. The findings indicate that the overall level of sustainability perception among participants was moderate. A statistically significant difference was observed in environmental sustainability perception based on gender, with female participants exhibiting a higher level of awareness. However, no significant differences were found across the social, professional, or institutional dimensions. Notably, length of service and departmental assignment had significant effects on certain sustainability dimensions. The results underscore the critical role of effective human resource management, alongside environmental and economic factors, in achieving sustainable healthcare systems. Based on these findings, several recommendations are proposed: organizing in-service training programs to enhance sustainability awareness, promoting environmentally friendly practices such as waste management and energy conservation, incorporating sustainability topics more extensively into educational curricula, expanding the implementation of green hospital initiatives, and supporting eco-friendly transportation policies for healthcare staff. Given Yalova's rich potential in thermal resources, linking sustainability perception to this unique local context may serve as a strategic foundation for future initiatives. Furthermore, identifying the factors influencing sustainability perceptions in local contexts will provide a valuable basis for future research and practical applications.
