Cancer stem cells (CSCs) are at the center of processes such as tumor heterogeneity, drug resistance, metastasis, and post- treatment recurrence in tumor biology. Due to their self-renewal and differentiation capabilities, these cells play a significant role in the course of disease by exhibiting resistance to conventional therapies. In malignancies with a high risk of recurrence and metastasis, such as ovarian cancer (OC), the development of new therapeutic strategies targeting CSCs has become critically necessary. This review presents the biological characteristics of CSCs and current treatment approaches in light of the literature, offering a comprehensive perspective on the subject.
