Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the awareness of cardiovascular risk in coronary artery disease and to reveal the related factors. Methods: This research is a cross-sectional - descriptive study. It was carried out between November 2021 and May 2022 in the intensive care unit of a university hospital with patients diagnosed with coronary artery disease (n:137). Personel Indentification Form and Cardiovascular Disease Risk Awareness Questionare were used to collect data. In the analysis of data; mean, standart deviation, percentile, Mann Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis tests were used. Results: The mean age of the patients participating in the study was 60.36 +/-11.85 years, 79.6 % were male and 37.2% were overweight. In the study, 63.5% of patients had regular sleep habits, 36.5% did regular sports and 33.6% took a walk. The difference between the means of the "Healty eating intentions sub-scale", "Perceived benefits and intentions to change sub-scale" and "Total score of the scale" according to walking and doing sports were statisically significant (p<.05). There was statistically significant difference between the participants'past and present smoking and alcohol use (p<.01). Conclusion: As a result, it was found that the cardiovascular risk perceptions of coronary artery disease patients were not at the desired level, based on the unhealty lifestyles data obtained in the study.
