Objective: This study aimed to develop a scale to assess menstruation-related symptoms and attitudes. Method: The research was designed as a methodological approach to develop a menstruation symptom and attitude scale. The study involved 550 female undergraduate students from a university in the Western Black Sea Region of Türkiye. Data were collected using a Personal Information Form, the Menstruation Attitude Questionnaire (MAQ), and the newly developed Menstruation Symptom and Attitude Scale (MSAS). Validity was assessed through content, face, construct, and concurrent validity analyses. Reliability was evaluated using Cronbach's alpha, Spearman-Brown, McDonald's Omega, and test-retest methods. Results: The MSAS consists of 2 sections: "Symptom" (11 items, 3 sub-dimensions) and "Attitude" (19 items, 4 sub-dimensions). Cronbach's alpha values were 0.82 (symptom) and 0.79 (attitude). Other reliability measures (Spearman-Brown, McDonald's Omega, ICC) also supported the scale's reliability, all indicating good internal consistency and stability over time. Conclusion: The MSAS is a valid and reliable tool for evaluating menstruation-related symptoms and attitudes.
