Introduction: Vaginismus can be defined as one of the sexual dysfunction in women (SD) where significant impairment of sexual function is observed. Especially considering that lack of sexual education and knowledge is the main cause of most sexual dysfunctions, this fact increases the importance of sexual myths. In this study, we aimed to determine sociodemographic and clinical features and the level of belief in sexual myths of women with vaginismus and their spouses. Material-method: Patient data between 2014 and 2020 were examined retrospectively. The sociodemographic, clinical, and Sexual Myths Questionnaire data of 44 women diagnosed with vaginismus and 44 men who met the study criteria were included in our study. Results: The average belief level of women with vaginismus and their partners in 9 of 30 sexual myths was over 3 points. In our study, "A good sexual intercourse should result with orgasm" and "In a good sexual relationship, partners should have orgasms together." are among the most believed sexual myths. Conclusion: The couples’ level of belief in sexual myths was high. This suggests that the high rate of sexual dysfunction and belief in sexual myths may be due to their interaction on each other and being affected by similar variables. Factors that affect both situations in common should be studied
