Fever of unknown origin is a clinical condition when the elevated body temperature is 38.3 °C or higher in the last 3 weeks and remaining undiagnosed after propriate investigation. The literature is very limited in pediatric patients compared to adults. Inflammation, infection, malignancy and others are in the differential diagnosis. The problem is the known problem presenting in an unknown clinical scenario. F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computerized tomography (PET/CT) is sensitive imaging method in the evaluation of fever of unknown origin. In this review the role of F-18 FDG PET/CT is going to be discussed in pediatric population.
