4 The aim of this study is to investigate whether intolerance of uncertainty and cognitive flexibility levels have a predictive effect on psychological symptoms. This research is designed according to the relational screening model from quantitative research methods. 498 university students, including 390 women and 108 men between the ages of 18-45, participated in the study (Mean:23.39, SS:3.29). In the study, multiple regression analysis was applied to examine whether intolerance of uncertainty and cognitive flexibility had a predictive effect on psychological symptoms. Intolerance of Uncertainty Scale, Cognitive Flexibility Inventory and Brief Symptom Inventory scales were used for individuals in the sample group. According to the research findings as a result of the multiple regression analysis, it was found that intolerance of uncertainty and cognitive flexibility levels had a significant predictive effect on psychological symptoms (depression, anxiety, hostility, negative self and somatization). As a result, as the level of intolerance of uncertainty increases in individuals, so do the levels of psychological symptoms. In addition, it was found that as the cognitive flexibility levels of increase in individuals, psychological symptom levels decrease. The results obtained from the research, the limitations of the research and some suggestions in terms of future research are discussed within the scope of the literature.
