Objective: In this study, the main aim was to investigate the knowledge, attitude and behavior of university students for hepatitis B. The secondary aim is to screen these university students for HBsAg and Anti-HBs, to vaccinate unvaccinated healthy individuals, and to refer carriers and sick individuals to clinics for follow-up and treatment. Materials and Methods: This study included 1850 Cukurova University students determined by randomization over a two-year period. Evaluation was made on 1428 people who accepted to participate in the survey. A questionnaire consisting of 15 questions was applied to investigate the sociodemographic characteristics, medical background, knowledge, attitude and behavior levels of the students about hepatitis B and vaccine. Unvaccinated healthy individuals were vaccinated. HBsAg positive individuals were referred to clinics for treatment. Results: 5cc of blood was taken from 1395 of 1428 students who were surveyed to check HBsAg and AntiHBs levels. Anti-HBs (+) in 193 (13.8%) university students, HBsAg (+) in 17 (1.2%) university students, and both HBsAg (+) and Anti-HBs (+) in one student was detected. 1184 students (84.8%) who were susceptible to hepatitis B infection were vaccinated with at least one dose of hepatitis B vaccine. Conclusion: In general, it was determined that the knowledge level of university students about hepatitis B and vaccination was insufficient, and the rate of vaccination was very low.
