Objective: North American Nursing Diagnosis Association International's (NANDA-I) vision is to serve as a global force for the development and use of nursing's standardized terminology, yet successfully incorporating NANDA-I diagnoses into nursing care plans is still a challenge in several nations. This study explores the utilization of Turkish nurses' NANDA-I diagnoses. Methods: A qualitative descriptive design was used. Twenty-one nurses representing 10 hospitals were included using social media and snowball sampling. Face-to-face interviews were conducted via Zoom and WhatsApp between March and August 2023 until data saturation was achieved. Transcripts of audio and video recordings were subjected to thematic analysis to identify recurrent patterns. Results: The study identified 5 primary themes: the prevalence of nursing diagnoses, advantages of employing NANDA-I diagnoses, challenges in utilization, barriers impeding utilization, and recommendations for enhancement. Conclusions: Nurses underscored the significance of employing NANDA-I diagnosis for standardized global care yet encountered challenges such as translation difficulties, inadequate administrative support, and obstacles in undergraduate education.
