Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Dergisi and The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics have been the most popular and scientific pediatric journals in Turkey since 1958. Both journals are published by the Turkish National Pediatric Society, Hacettepe University Institute of Child Health and The Turkish and International Children's Center. Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Dergisi is included in the abstracting and indexing coverage of BIOSIS Previews, CAB Abstracts (Abstracts on Hygiene and Communicable Diseases, Public Health Bulletin, Tropical Diseases Bulletin), EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, IBIDS (International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements), ŞERLİNE and the Turkish Medical Index. The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is included in the abstracting and indexing coverage of MEDLINE/lndex Medicus, MICROMEDEX for Health Care Series, Research Alert Direct (ISI), and Science Citation Index Expanded (ISI), in addition to the above-mentioned international indexes. According to the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) 1996 Science Citation Index-Journal Citations Report (SCI-JCR), the "Impact Factor" of the Turkish Journal of Pediatrics is 0.130 which is five times higher than the 1993 value. The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics ranks 58th in the world among the pediatric journals listed. However, most of the higher-ranked journals published in the United States and the United Kingdom, and there are four Germany and two from France. Aside from the Turkish journals, there are no journals from other countries. It seems that the place of Çocuk Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Dergisi and The Turkish Journal of Pediatrics among international pediatric journals will improve rapidly in the near future
