Objective: This study aimed to adapt a valid and reliable instrument to Turkish society to assess women's perceptions of mistreatment and respectful care. Methods: This methodological study was conducted with 228 postpartum women between November and December 2024. Data were collected online using Google Forms. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were performed to assess construct validity, and reliability was evaluated using internal consistency and test-retest methods. Results: The EFA revealed a model consisting of 17 items and 3 sub-dimensions explaining 61.4% of the total variance of the scale. The CFA supported this structure (Comparative Fit Index (CFI) = 0.932, Tucker-Lewis Index = 0.917, root mean square error of approximation = 0.073). Total Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.88, indicating high internal consistency. Conclusion: There is no specific scale to determine whether women have been subjected to abuse and/or disrespectful treatment during childbirth, whether they perceive it, and the type and severity of the perceived treatment. Therefore, the Turkish version of the Childbirth Abuse and Respect Evaluation-Maternal Questionnaire can be used as a measurement tool to determine the level of women's perceptions of abuse and respectful care during childbirth.
